Tasman District Council received the application for resource consents from Nelson Regional Sewerage Business Unit (NRSBU).
They sought replacement consents to continue applying biosolids to the forestry land on Moturoa / Rabbit Island.
Commissioners Sharon McGarry and Reginald Proffit granted the resource consents on 14 April 2023.
The application was publicly notified, submissions were received and the decision making was made through a Hearing.

Discharge of contaminants (primarily odour) to air from the application of biosolids to land and from operation of the Biosolids Application Facility at Moturoa / Rabbit Island. The duration sought is 35 years. |
Land use consent - application RM200640 |
To operate and maintain the Biosolids Application Facility and for all other land use activities associated with the application of biosolids to land. This consent would supersede the existing land use consent RM940534. |

The discharge is from the washdown and stormwater at the Biosolids Application Facility. The duration sought is five years. |
