If you are considering purchasing a property in the Tasman District we recommend getting a LIM before finalising the purchase.

The LIM will detail the information that the Council has on record about a property, and it'll be reviewed by specialist staff to ensure we've included all relevant information for you.

A LIM can take up to ten working days to deliver, although we do aim to complete the work in the shortest timeframe possible.

Tasman District Council is a Unitary Authority, meaning that both Regional Council and District Council information is included in your LIM - so it's very thorough.

Large properties involving more than one certificate of title will be quoted accordingly. Note: Should a special request be made that results in a field inspection and/or submitter research, Council reserves the right to charge any additional fees that are appropriate, based on the amount of time required to provide the requested information.

Information included is covered by Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987, Section 44A and will cover:

rateable valuation data
rates and water charges
resource and subdivision consents
building permits and consents
compliance schedules, building warrant of fitness
swimming pool fence compliance
information notified from the Weathertight Homes Resolution Services
protected buildings and trees, historic buildings
drainage information relating to sewer and/or storm water
domestic water supply
any special features or characteristics of the land or buildings
likely presence of hazardous contaminants
any current requisitions issued by the Council on the property
registrations and licences
refuse and recycling collection information.

The LIM may also include any other information relevant to the land which the Council considers, at its discretion, to be relevant.

Providing all the necessary information is supplied with your application, the LIM will be prepared by the Council within 10 working days and forwarded to you as quickly as possible.

Please note: LIM cancellation requests must be received in writing and within 48 hours of submitting your application.

Toka Tū Ake EQC have an online portal where you can search to see whether an EQC claim has been made for this property for the period since 1997.
