Draft Lakes-Murchison Ward Reserve Management Plan and Draft Reserve Management Plan Section for Baigents Bush Scenic Reserve, Pigeon Valley

In accordance with the Reserves Act 1977, the Tasman District Council gives public notice of:

  • the Draft Lakes-Murchison Ward Reserve Management Plan (RMP), and
  • the draft RMP section for Baigents Bush Scenic Reserve, Pigeon Valley, which is being prepared for eventual inclusion in the Moutere-Waimea Ward Reserve Management Plan.

Submissions Invited
Under the provisions of Section 41(6) of the Reserves Act 1977, the Council invites submissions on both these documents. Submissions are open from 11 April 2025 and will close on 16 June 2025. All submissions must be received by the closing date.

Public Hearing
A public hearing will be held in accordance with Section 41(7) of the Reserves Act 1977 to hear submissions on the Draft Reserve Management Plans. The hearing is scheduled for 3 July 2025.

How to Participate

The Draft Lakes-Murchison Ward RMP and the draft RMP section for Baigents Bush Scenic Reserve are available for public viewing and comment online at shape.tasman.govt.nz/rmp-reviews(external link).

Hard copies of the documents can be viewed at Council's offices and libraries. Hard copy summaries with key consultation questions and submission forms are available from Council upon request.

Submissions
Submissions must be made in writing and be received by the Council no later than 16 June 2025. You can submit online via the website or by post to the Community Policy Team at:
