Following works to repair Hill Street and Churchill Avenue back in August, we will now be resealing these roads between Tuesday 3 and Friday 6 December.
Hill Street
Hill Street between Churchill Avenue and Queen Street will be under a one-lane closure on Tuesday 3 December from 6am until 8pm. Southbound traffic (towards Richmond) will flow normally, while northbound traffic (towards Nelson) will be detoured via Queen Street, Wilkes Street and William Street.
eBus during Hill Street work
The southbound eBus will travel its normal route. The northbound eBus will detour via Queen Street, Wilkes Street and William Street.
The one southbound bus stop in the closure area will be closed while this work is taking place. There is no temporary replacement bus stop as it would be the same distance as walking to next available permanent stop – either on Upper Queen Street or at the other end of Hill Street near Champion Road.
The nearby northbound bus stop is outside of the road works area, so will remain in use as normal.
Churchill Avenue
Churchill Avenue will be done in two stages, all between 6am and 8pm. The street will be reopened outside of working hours.
- Churchill Avenue, between Hill Street and Griffin Street, and including Mason Place, will be under a full closure on Wednesday 4 December.
- Churchill Avenue, between Griffin Street and Windleborn Place, and including Barrington Place, will be under a full closure on Thursday 5 December.
- On Friday 6 December we will be finishing off any remaining works on Churchill Avenue.
