These art works were completed in September 2021.
These murals, commissioned in August 2021, are part of a series of public art that brightened up the Richmond Deviation underpass.
This project was initiated by artist Chrissy Zesk and supported by Council and Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency with the aim of preventing tagging and vandalism. Chrissy based these pieces on his older works, combining them with new elements. He hopes that this project will inspire taggers to create great art.

Born in Bristol, England and now living in New Zealand, Chrissy Zesk has painted many murals in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.
His work ranges from large scale productions where his weapons of choice are cans of spray paint, to digital works. His style stems from 15 plus years of painting street art/graffiti and taking those elements and evolving them into a unique, illustrative way.
