Tasman has two free graffiti walls - next to the Appleby Overbridge on Tasman's Great Taste Trail and by the Motueka Skatepark at the basketball court.
Street art is a fabulous form of creativity, but it is extremely difficult to find places where artists can practice their skills. That’s why we now have dedicated graffiti walls in Tasman where artists can tastefully share their talents.
The Appleby graffiti wall was opened during Youth Week in May 2022 by local artist Nerys Ngaruhe.
Nerys has been advocating for a free graffiti wall and will now join us to monitor the wall, ensuring that no offensive or inappropriate tagging appears.
All artists, from beginners to professionals are invited to try it out, so grab your paint can and creativity and have a go.
Artists need to be mindful that several times a year the wall will be painted over for a fresh start.
