From Monday 25 November contractors will be constructing two fire ponds on the Fowler and Henry Road Skids in Kingsland Forest. They will also be redistributing the slash on Henry Road skid prior to constructing the pond.
Construction of the fire ponds will take 2-3 weeks, depending on the weather.
Work will start at the Fowler Road Skid first before moving to the Henry Road Skid.
During this time, some restricted access closures and will be in place;
Fowler Road skid – Fowler road will remain open for the construction of the fire pond on the Fowler Road Skid. The downhill MTB track (Terminus) will be open for the majority of the work but a short closure will be required on the morning of Monday the 25th of November . All closures will be sign posted.
Henry Road Skid – Henry Road will still be open but a section of Fowler road will be CLOSED whilst the slash on the Henry Road skid is pushed around as there is a risk of debris fall onto the road. This will only be for a few days.
