We installed a new section of watermain on the southern side of Bird Lane, to supplement the pre-existing watermain. The new larger (150mm diameter) section of watermain is approximately 300 meters long and runs along side the existing pipeline route. The pre-existing pipe was connected to the new watermain and acts as a feeder line into some properties.
The pre-existing pipe was not large enough to service growth and was too small to provide sufficient water flows required for fire fighting. The upgrade also means a more reliable water supply and less disruption to residents if there are any problems with either pipe in the future.

Access |
For short periods, vehicle access to some properties may need to be restricted and the water supply will be interrupted for a few hours when the new watermain is put into service (mid-November). |
