We improved the stormwater system in the Gibbs Road and Haven Road area.
We did this by installing an underground piped stormwater system from the intersection of Gibbs Road and Swiftsure Street to the mid-section of Gibbs Road, that channels the stormwater into a creek. The creek feeds into the Aorere River.
Erosion of the old open stormwater drain and blockages in the old pipework, led to frequent flooding on Haven Road and the surrounding area. The new stormwater system will reduce the risk of flooding in the future.
