It is recommended recreational users allow the water to clear before using the beach again after periods of heavy rainfall.
During the peak periods from Christmas-February this swimming hole on average attracts about 80-100 visitors a day. This site has one of the longest deep slow-moving pools of rivers in the Tasman District (350M) so it makes for an excellent site for outdoor swim training.
The main recreational use is swimming and kayaking.
