Aquifer: Appleby Gravel Unconfined Aquifer
Zone: Wai-iti Dam Service Zone
Period of analysis: 15 July 2001 to 31 December 2016
Comment: This bore is principally for monitoring groundwater recharge in relation to the water release from the Wai-iti Dam at Kainui. The dam releases water into the Wai-iti River above Belgrove and this water recharges the adjoining aquifer downstream all the way to below Brightwater township. This is one in a series of bores measuring the effectiveness of the release and also helps to decide on volumes of release to keep groundwater levels up.
