Review of the local alcohol policy

Submissions have now closed.

Tasman District Council proposed to review the Tasman District Council Local Alcohol Policy.

The Local Alcohol Policy (LAP) has been in force since 14 March 2015 and must be reviewed prior to 14 March 2021 to remain in force. The most significant impact of the LAP is to limit the hours that Licensed Premises may trade, compared to the default national maximum trading hours permitted by the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012. The Council has proposed that no change is made to the existing LAP.

Council's intention was to leave the LAP unchanged through this review. You can read the full statement of proposal here. Hard copies were also made available at Council offices and libraries.

If required, a hearing to be held on 14 October 2020 for anyone who indicated they wanted to speak in support of their submission.
