The seeds we sow now, the investment we make in our District’s infrastructure, environment, community and cultural wellbeing, will bear fruit in future. However, we know affordability is a key concern for many in our community.
The support coming from central government, through a variety of different funding streams, has been invaluable in helping us to achieve that balance. These projects will provide employment opportunities and stimulate the economy.
As at November 2020 we have approved government funding of over $23 million and we’ve allocated local funding of over $7m to support these projects. Funding still under consideration could bring that total figure to over $47m if applications are successful.
There are currently 18 separate projects included in the programme (some with funding still under consideration).
A Programme Management Office (PMO) has been set up to coordinate delivery of the projects as the agreements, funding arrangements and reporting requirements also vary from project to project.
The PMO will work with Council’s team of project and programme managers to ensure all the projects meet the objectives required by our funding partners, are delivered to a high standard, on time and provide the best outcomes for our community.
