Construction fencing will go up around the site designated for a new library in Motueka's Decks Reserve soon.
This will allow site preparation work to begin, such as moving services (power, water and so on), clearing the site (removing trees, putting furniture into storage) and preparing the site ready for building.
The purpose-built, 1,100m single-storey library will be constructed between the iSite and the Japanese Gardens. The new library has been planned for several years and will replace the ageing and undersized library in Pah Street with a modern, sustainable new building in Decks Reserve.
The library project will provide 19 full-time local jobs and a boost to the construction sector and suppliers.
