As we move to Alert Level 2 restrictions from midday today (12 Aug), we want to assure you that all Tasman District Council services will continue operating. As we did previously during Alert Level 2, we will have measures in place to enable physical distancing and we will also continue with contact tracing at council offices, libraries and recreation facilities. This may result in some delays to service so we ask everyone to be patient.

Tasman District Council Chief Executive Janine Dowding says, “As we did before, we will follow the advice from central government on the best ways to operate in order to protect the health of our community.

“It’s crucial that all residents support us in this by following government advice, especially around good hygiene and staying at home if you feel at all unwell.

“Based on experiences from overseas, we always knew that the virus could re-emerge in the community. I now urge everyone to stay positive. This might feel like a setback but we’ve shown before that through our combined efforts we can working together to protect our community. We know we can do it again.  Please follow the government advice and stay informed as the situation evolves.”
