Positive Ageing Expo - April 2020

Following Government advice on large gatherings, this event has been cancelled to reduce the risk of spreading Covid-19 among the older population.

Headingly Centre, Richmond,

Tasman District Council has taken the decision to cancel the Positive Ageing Expo that had been scheduled for 3 April 2020.

This follows advice from the Government that public events where 500 or more people are together in one place, at one time should be cancelled.

Lani Evans, Community Partnership Co-ordinator says, “This is a popular event that usually attracts several thousand people. Given that most of the attendees would fall into the age bracket of those who have been vulnerable to Covid-19 in other countries, the decision to cancel is the most sensible option.”

“We look forward to bringing an even bigger and better event to the community once more in 2021.”
