A forum for Mapua businesses and community to help guide development of the waterfront area, in line with the master plan.

The Mapua waterfront working group is a forum for local Mapua businesses and community to provide feedback on the Council's proposals relating to the wharf and waterfront area, including the waterfront park.

The Mapua Waterfront Area Working Group,  made up of representatives from Ngati Rarua, Ngati Tama, Te Atiawa, Mapua & Districts Community Association, Tamaha Sea Scouts, Mapua & Districts Business Association, Mapua boat Club, Friends of Mapua Waterfront and Tasman District Council,  have been working together over the last few months developing a plan to improve the Mapua Wharf open space area.

Now that a layout plan has been approved the working group are looking to fund raise for picnic tables and benches, bicycle racks, drinking fountain, interpretation signage and a small boat or waka for the playground area. The Council is under way developing construction plans.
